Message so my transmission is dead i do not know exactly what happened inside. I talked to my friend who said that the synthetic oil is too thin and is not to be used in the transmission, he said it leads to syncro damage(2nd and 4th on mine are toast) and that the needle bearings need something thicker. i came to a stop went to put it from 2nd to 1st and the shift was real stiff although it still went into gear, released the clutch and it died, i was able to restart the car but it wasnt going anywhere. He seems to think that it may be stuck between 1st and 2nd. I take his word pretty seriously all he does for a living is build race transmissions diff's and clutches and has been doing do for nearly 40 years. not in any way z specific he mainly does off road truck race, drag, sprint and heavy street applications. for the record this transmission has about 35k on it, it was rebuilt. anybody else have problems like this?
